Review: Rayvon Owen from ‘American Idol’ excellent on ‘Jealous’ cover (Includes first-hand account)

His a cappella rendition of “Jealous” by English singer-songwriter Labrinth is moving and crystalline, and it really tugs at the hearts of his listeners. He is backed by a church choir, which is the perfect vocal accompaniment. The control he maintains over his range is impressive and worth more than just a passing glance. A Virginia native, Owen proves that he is one of the most underrated contestants during this season of American Idol. His version of “Jealous” garners an A rating.

Owen and the remaining American Idol finalists, including Season 14 winner Nick Fradiani and runner-up Clark Beckham will be performing at The Beacon Theatre in New York City on August 5.
