After a brief introduction, Prince Royce began his set with “Stuck on a Feeling,” which was an impressive number where he has his fans waving along. He garnered a roaring response from the Brooklyn audience. The title track of his album, “Double Vision,” was a great deal of fun.
He interacted well with the crowd through his vivacious rendition of “Dangerous.” “Handcuffs” was an infectious dance tune from start to finish. He accompanied himself on acoustic guitar, and he delivered the gentle ballad “Extraordinary.” “Nice and Slow” was yet another charming ballad in his set.
Royce serenaded “Lucky One” to a female audience member who was indeed “lucky,” and for the duration of the song, he made her feel like a true queen. “Darte Un Beso” was a compelling vocal performance in Spanish, where he displayed his velvet vocals. Royce closed his set with “Back It Up,” and towards the end of that performance, he was able to show his fans his ripped and chiseled body, prior to throwing a few red roses in the audience. “Thank you for your love and support,” he said, before wishing his crowd a “good night.”
The Verdict
Overall, Prince Royce’s show at the Barclays Center was remarkable and entertaining. He was able to command the stage for the entire duration of his upbeat and energetic set, and he warmed up the stage for Grande. He proved to be one charismatic live performer, who is worth seeing live whenever he is in New York. His concert garnered an A rating.
