His album opens with “Stuck On a Feeling,” his hit collaboration with rapper Snoop Dogg, and it is followed by the infectious “Handcuffs,” which will make his listeners clap along.
As Digital Journal reported, “Back It Up” is a soaring collaboration with such Latin music superstars as Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez. The ballad “Lucky One” is pure ear candy, as well as one of the highlight vocals on the album, which features Prince Royce’s velvet vocals.
“Double Vision” is the album’s title cut, while “Lie to Me” is another upbeat vocal. Kid Ink joins Prince Royce on “Dangerous.” “Extraordinary” is more laid-back and mellow than the other tracks, and he picks the pace up with “Seal It With a Kiss, which has a neat dance beat to it. “There For You” has an optimistic message to it and “Paris On a Sunny Day” is a gorgeous, piano-driven ballad. It closes with the feel-good tune “Chemical.”
The Verdict
Overall, Prince Royce’s new album is well-crafted and impressive, especially since this marks his first studio effort where he sings primarily in English. It is a substantial indication that RCA Records knows true talent. Prince Royce deserves to be the next big thing in Latin music and he should crossover to pop music super-stardom. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
