Pierce Brosnan and Tom Hardy star in the new series “MobLand,” which premieres on March 30th on Paramount+.

This global crime series was created by Ronan Bennett, and directed by Guy Ritchie, and both served as executive producers.

The synopsis is: Power is up for grabs as the Harrigans and Stevensons, two warring London crime families, clash in a kill-or-be-killed battle that threatens to topple empires and ruin lives.

Pierce Brosnan stars as Conrad Harrigan, the patriarch of the family. Caught in the crossfire is Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy), the street-smart “fixer” as dangerous as he is handsome, who knows too well where loyalties lie when opposing forces collide.

As kingdom goes up against kingdom, lines will be crossed — and the only saving grace is a bet-your-life guarantee: family above everything.

In the first episode titled “Stick or Twist,” Harry Da Souza is called upon to make a problem disappear after a night out goes awry for the sons of two warring crime families. As boss Richie Stevenson (Geoff Bell) looks to pin blame, patriarch Conrad Harrigan gathers his clan with a plan.

Pierce Brosnan pulls off a controlled and commanding performance as Conrad, who reinforces the fact that “power is a hungry thing,” and he thrives on power. Tom Hardy is electrifying as Harry, and he captures the conflicted conscience of the fixer.

Helen Mirren proves that she is a force to be reckoned with as Maeve Harrigan, the matriarch of the family and the brains behind the charm.

The Verdict

Overall, “MobLand” is a compelling new series on Paramount+. Judging from the first episode of “MobLand,” this series seems bright and promising. It instantly lures the audience in from the opening scene.

It is nonstop, pulse-pounding action, and it will take viewers on a wild and bumpy ride. The characters have solid chemistry together, and it is bold and badass.

“MobLand” deserves to become the next “Tulsa King” and the next “Mayor of Kingstown.” Most importantly, it feel-good escapism, and kudos to Guy Ritchie for immersing us in this crazy underworld. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars. Bravo.

“MobLand” is available to stream starting on March 30th on Paramount+.
