Pianist Kevin Flournoy and vocalist Amanda Cole join forces on their new single “To the Water.”

Cole’s honey-rich and crystalline vocals are reminiscent of the late Whitney Houston meets CeCe Winans. This is a tune that should be enjoyed for its beauty and simplicity.

Flournoy had been working with Cole on tracks for a solo project when she presented the song to him as one she would like to record.

“To the Water” was penned by Matt Simons, an associate of David Foster, and its subject matter is timely and relevant, especially since it capturing the spirit of the post-COVID era where people were reflecting on the friends, family members, and loved ones they had lost.

It is a tender and moving ballad that is sung from the viewpoint of the dying person that is getting ready to cross over. It will certain touch their listeners on an emotional level. This collaboration is a match made in musical heaven.

“To the Water” by Kevin Flournoy and Amanda Cole is available on Spotify and Apple Music. It is worth more than just a passing glance, and it garners an A rating.
