On Thursday, April 3rd, singer-songwriter Parker Phillips sang at Joanne Trattoria in the Upper West Side of New York.

Phillips performed as part of an “Emerging Artist” showcase along with such diverse and gifted artists as Izze Stein and Katerina Athena.

The restaurant is owned by Joe Germanotta, Lady Gaga’s father, and it is becoming an entertainment hub in the New York area.

Parker Phillips’ set

Phillips kicked off his set with a controlled and soulful version of John Legend’s “Again,” and he immediately broke into a distinct rendition of Shawn Mendes’ “Mercy,” where he was able to evoke a wide spectrum of raw emotions thanks to his harking interpretation.

Equally noteworthy was his lucid cover of Rihanna’s “Diamonds,” whose lyrics captured what he is all about: shining bright like a diamond. Phillips has a voice that is smooth like butter.

For his encore performance, Phillips joined the ever-talented Izze Stein for a soaring duet of John Legend’s “Ordinary People” with a unique musical piano-laden arrangement to it that was well-received by all.

Every song that Phillips performed had its own identity, and it allowed his to showcase his versatile singing talent and storytelling abilities.

Hopefully, this is a harbinger of more great shows and music to come from Parker Phillips in the future.
