Review: Nicky Romero charms on new ‘PRTCL’ track with Spyder (Includes first-hand account)

Romero collaborates on this track with guest vocalist Spyder (from “Like Dis” and “Waterman”); moreover, Romero revealed that with “PRTCL,” he returns to his old sound, but in a new, refreshing way. He noted that the music industry is craving original-sounding records more than ever and that is what he wanted to accomplish with “PRTCL.”

Speaking of “PRTCL,” it is indeed special to him since it is the 100th release on Protocol Recordings. “It’s an amazing feeling to have reached 100 releases on my own label,” Romero said, prior to thanking all of the producers (for their work behind the scenes), as well as his dedicated fans. “Here’s to the next 100,” he added.

In 2017, Romero celebrated five years of his Protocol Recordings label, and hopefully, there will be many more to come.

The Verdict

Overall, “PRTCL” is an upbeat, progressive and fun track that is bound to be a dance-floor anthem for 2018. It is comprised of strong, cinematic melodies, as well as a killer drop, and bouncing bass-lines. “PRTCL” garners an A rating.

“PRTCL” is available on iTunes.
