He shared the stage with pop superstar Meghan Trainor, who opened the show with such hit songs as “All About That Bass” and “Lips Are Movin.” It was presented by the following New York radio stations: 95.5 WPLJ, Nash FM 94.7, 77 WABC and Radio 103.9.
Nick strummed his acoustic guitar on such tunes as “S.O.S.” and “Wilderness.” “It’s pretty special to sing that song so many years later,” Jonas said, referring to “S.O.S.” “I write it after a terrible date right here in Times Square. Look who is laughing now,” he added.
Other noteworthy vocals in Jonas’ set included “Chains,” “Push,” where he accompanied himself on acoustic guitar, “Teacher,” as well as his latest radio single, the Top 10 hit “Jealous,” where he displayed his impressive falsetto. “Jealous” was clearly the fan-favorite song of the evening. All of these songs are tracks on his newest studio album, Nick Jonas, which was released on Island Records.
The Verdict
Overall, Nick Jonas deserves two thumbs up for a job well done at the “Ultimate Tailgate Party.” He and Meghan Trainor were both at the top of their game musically.
