“Neon Lights,” starring Kim Coates (“Sons of Anarchy”) and Dana Abraham will be released on Demand and Digital on July 12, 2022, via Momentum Pictures.

It tackles the serious subject matter of mental health head-on in a raw and authentic manner.

In “Neon Lights,” 30-year-old tech tycoon, Clay Amani (Dana Abraham), retreats to an off-the-grid location in search of meaning and peace, with disconnected siblings and their offspring, only to be caught in a bone-chilling killing spree within his new estate.

Guests begin disappearing in an off-grid location, during a family reunion of misfit siblings and their kids.

Dana Abraham is commanding and unflinching as Clay in this thriller, while Kim Coates delivers a bold and badass performance as Denver; moreover, his daughter, actress Brenna Coates, is noteworthy as therapist Dr. Laila Mori.

Without giving too much away, it has an ending that will blow everyone away. Just one minor caveat: do not watch this film prior to going to bed.

The Verdict

Overall, “Neon Lights” is a spellbinding and haunting film, written by Dana Abraham. The performances by the cast are extraordinary, especially Dana Abraham and Kim Coates.

Rouzbeh Heydari did a solid job with its direction. This movie will certainly spark discussions on the timely topic of mental health, and it garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
