Review: Nashville’s Chris Carmack delights on debut single ‘Being Alone’ (Includes first-hand account)

It is a heart-warming track that was penned by Carmack, as well as produced by Grammy winner Ben Fowler (who has worked with southern rock group Lynyrd Skynyrd) and Phoenix Mendoza. “Being Alone” will be included on Carmack’s upcoming debut album, Pieces of You.

“I have tried temptation, someone to have and to hold, I’ve tried medication, to fill the void in my soul,” Carmack sings.

The tune is about a young man’s solitary struggle to discover his own identity, while trying to adhere to the expectations and plans of others. “Being Alone” displays his wide range as an up-and-coming country music artist. His baritone vocals are rich and tender, where the listener can recall fellow country singer Chuck Wicks.

The Verdict

Chris Carmack delivers on his breakthrough single “Being Alone.” He is not afraid to showcase his vulnerability, and he sings directly from the heart. If his forthcoming EP is anything like this new track, then his fans and listeners will be in for a real treat. His single garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
