Review: Musical duo FITNESS hypnotic on ‘Matter of Time’ single (Includes first-hand account)

FITNESS is made up of Max Collins from Eve 6 and Kenny Carkeet, formerly of AWOLNATION. This fall, they are touring with Big Data on the ALT Nation tour.

“Matter of Time” features soothing vocals from Collins, and it has a hypnotic melody to it. They are not afraid to be raw and vulnerable with their music. “Matter of Time” is making its way up the radio charts. Their sound is refreshing, especially since it encompasses alternative rock melodies with infectious synth pop.

Collins and Carkeet had met back in 2012, when they were watching a Public Enemy show at a radio festival that they were playing with their respective groups at the time. Both musicians kept in contact, and they eventually decided to do a joint musical venture together.

They got together in Los Angeles, California, where they started writing songs together, which incorporated elements of pop, rock, electronic and adult contemporary music.

“Matter of Time” is available on iTunes and on Spotify.

The Verdict

Overall, FITNESS dazzle on their single “Matter of Time.” This song is a smash hit in the making. It will resonate well with their listeners from a lyrical and melodic standpoint. It garners an A rating.
