It was presented by the New York country music radio station NASH FM 94.7. Country air personality Jesse Addy went on to introduce his co-host, the “lovely and talented” Kelly Ford.
“Welcome to NASH BASH,” radio personality Kelly Ford said. “Who said there weren’t country fans in New York City?”
They noted that NASH is about family and country music, and introduced country singer Mo Pitney who opened the show. “Let’s get NASH BASH started with Mo Pitney,” Addy said.
Pitney’s set included the ballad “Come Do A Little Life,” where his vocals were reminiscent of fellow country star Kenny Chesney, and it was followed by his single “Boy And A Girl Thing.” He noted that “Clean Up On Aisle Five” was the first song that he ever performed at the historic Grand Ole Opry, and it garnered him a standing ovation there. His version at Beacon Theatre was impressive, as the stage was graced in purple lights, coupled by a neat steel guitar solo. Pitney closed with “Country,” which he dedicated to all of the country folks in New York, and he thanked the radio station, NASH FM, for being kind to him and his music.
Country singer Dylan Scott was equally noteworthy. His mini-concert included the infectious “Lay It On Me” and it was followed by “Hurtin’ In the Morning” and “Ball Cap.” His breakthrough song “Making This Boy Go Crazy” is catchy and a great deal of fun, as were his newer songs “Living Room,” his latest single “Crazy Over Me” and “My Girl.”
The Verdict
Overall, Mo Pitney and Dylan Scott were able to warm up the stage for NASH BASH at Beacon Theatre. Both of their sets garnered 4.5 out of 5 stars, and they are a substantial indication that Curb Records knows true musical talent.
