Review: Meghan Linsey from ‘The Voice’ charms on new ‘Believer’ album (Includes first-hand account)

Her EP contains elements of pop, soul, R&B and adult contemporary music. It begins with the sultry “Counterfeit,” where she showcases her powerful pipes from the very first note. It is followed by the up-tempo and rocking title track tune, the piano-driven “Believer.” “Sunshine in My Soul” is more mellow and bluesy.

Aside from her tremendous vocals, her songwriting for this project is backed by raw emotions, thus adding to her appeal as a singer-songwriter. “This Side of Heaven” is a breath of fresh air, while the piano-driven “Everything Is Happening” is a song that many of her listeners can relate to, due to the everyday stresses that may occur in their lives. It closes on a haunting note with the powerhouse vocal “Best of Me,” which is perhaps the greatest song on the EP.

The Voice

Overall, Meghan Linsey delivers on her newest Believer EP. One can tell that the songs were based on the songstress’ personal experiences. She showcases a great deal of inner strength on this album, and Linsey proves she has everything it takes to make it big in this new genre of music. Her EP has a retro vibe to it, and it is inspirational and heartfelt. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
