Meg Donnelly is a pop singer-songwriter, dancer, and actress. On February 21st, she released her new single “picky” via Range Music.
Donnelly is known for her acting work in Disney’s “Zombies” film series, “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” and “The Winchesters” on The CW, where she starred opposite Drake Rodger.
She recently joined the Range Music roster, thus marking an exciting new chapter in her diverse and multifaceted career.
Donnelly collaborated on the song “picky” with Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Tenroc, who has worked with such artists as Reneé Rapp, Jon Batiste, and the Jonas Brothers.
The song has a retro vibe to it, where Donnelly blends early ’00s hip-hop and pop influences to create a track encouraging listeners to confidently and unapologetically make themselves a priority.
Donnelly allows her breathy, crystalline vocals to shine where the listener can recall Carly Rae Jepsen; moreover, it is an anthem of female empowerment. This collaboration with Tenroc is a match made in musical heaven.
Her song’s music video is refreshing and a great deal of fun, and it may be seen below.
Regarding her new single “picky,” Donnelly remarked, “It is a song for introverted extroverts, who are hypersensitive to the energies of people around them.”
“The production is inspired by my love for ’90s and ’00s hip-hop and my New Jersey roots, which represent my extroverted side,” she acknowledged.
“The lyrics reflect what I feel every single day—constantly overthinking how others perceive me and how their words often don’t match their energy,” she explained.
“I’m incredibly proud of ‘picky.’ I think it truly represents the dichotomy of who I am,” she added.
Most recently, Donnelly returned from an eventful New York Fashion Week, attending Kim Shui and Collina Strada shows, among various branded events.
