Actors Mckenna Grace and Mason Thames star in the new Paramount Pictures romantic drama “Regretting You.”

It also stars Dave Franco, Alison Williams, Scott Eastwood and Willa Fitzgerald. Josh Boone directed from a resonant and clever screenplay by Susan McMartin.

Based on the bestselling book by Colleen Hoover, “Regretting You” introduces audiences to Morgan Grant (Allison Williams) and her daughter Clara (Mckenna Grace) as they explore what’s left behind after a devastating accident reveals a shocking betrayal and forces them to confront family secrets, redefine love, and rediscover each other.

This film is a story of growth, resilience, and self-discovery in the aftermath of tragedy.

Mckenna Grace is bubbly as Clara, while Allison Williams is appealing as Morgan.

Dave Franco is a revelation as Jonah especially as he discovers something that pertains to his best friend Chris (Scott Eastwood) and his wife Jenny (Willa Fitzgerald).

Mason Thames pulls off the crowning performance of his career thus far as the charming Miller Adams in a complex and versatile role that runs the gamut.

Thomas has great chemistry with Mckenna Grace, and they will sustain the audience’s attention for its entire duration.

The Verdict

Overall, “Regretting You” is a captivating new movie that truly tugs at the heartstrings. The acting performances all around are remarkable, and every single person in the cast brings something unique to the table.

The script by Susan McMartin is rich in character development and Josh Boone was a solid job with its direction as he is able to balance the witty moments with the emotional and heavy ones.

“Regretting You” ought to be enjoyed for its beauty, simplicity, and authenticity. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars. Well done.
