On October 31, Emmy winner Maurice Benard (“General Hospital”) featured his on-screen TV daughter Lexi Ainsworth in his MB “State of Mind” podcast on mental health. Digital Journal has the recap.
Ainsworth is known for her portrayal of Kristina Davis Corinthos (which Sonny shares his Alexis Davis played by Nancy Lee Grahn) on the ABC daytime drama “General Hospital.” Ainsworth won a Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series” in 2017 for playing this character.
Benard acknowledged that he looks at Ainsworth as a daughter in his own life. Ainsworth opened up about her upbringing and shared that she has battled anxiety ever since she was a kid, and she spoke about how she has learned how to cope with it.
They also discuss how Ainsworth prepares for her acting roles, especially when she does deep, emotional scenes, and she opened up about their recent scenes on “General Hospital,” where her character found out that Sonny is indeed alive. Ainsworth’s scenes were very moving, along with the performances of Dominic Zamprogna, Chad Duell, and Eden McCoy (when they reunited with Sonny on the show).
Benard and Ainsworth’s entire informed conversation may be seen below. It is very honest, raw, and once again, the public is bound to find it heartwarming and relatable.
