Review: Matthew West sensational on new studio album ‘Live Forever’ (Includes first-hand account)

The album was released on April 28 via his record label, Sparrow Records.

His album begins with the title track tune “Live Forever,” and it is followed by the upbeat yet inspirational “Day One.” “86,400 second, Make ’em count, make ’em matter, Make it now, live forever,” West sings, in the tune’s opening hook.

“The List” is a soothing, acoustic-driven ballad, while “World Changers” is an empowering vocal performance, which is an anthem for the people that want to change the world, for the better. “Grace Wins” is another powerful tune, with a neat echo effect, which stands out as one of the album’s best tracks.

‘Tryin'” is more laid-back and mellow, while the refreshing “Mended” showcases an optimistic outlook on life. “Born For This” is yet another polished ballad on the collection, where his vocals are crystalline.

“Heaven is the Hope” is a vocal master-class that will send chills down one’s spine. It closes with the piano-driven “Homecoming.”
