On July 9, rising country singer-songwriter Matt Rogers released his highly-anticipated radio single “Be Like Him.” Digital Journal has the scoop.

Most recently, Rogers signed with Vere Music, which has distribution through ADA.

He allows his rich and resonant baritone vocals to shine on this tune, where the listener can recall such country artists as Dylan Scott meets Chris Lane. In this track, the male narrator is pleading and promising his female love interest that he will never be like the other person she was previously with.

He co-penned the song with Barrett Baber and Terri Jo Box. “Be Like Him” takes a raw and honest look at building trust where there is painful rubble from a previous failing romance. His delivery is poignant and heartfelt, and it addresses finding trust and love again after heartbreak.

His musical journey is slightly different than most and it could be inspiring to hopeful artists who don’t have access to the mainframe of Nashville’s music industry. In addition to a full tour schedule (pre-pandemic), the Georgia native has been performing weekly at Blake Shelton’s Old Red since it opened in 2018 and he made early inroads by entering every songwriting competition he could get his hands on – and winning.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, his single “Burn The Boat” landed on Buzzfeed’s “Top 10 Hottest Country Summer Jams” alongside songs by Luke Combs and Carrie Underwood.

“Be Like Him” by Matt Rogers is available on digital service providers by clicking here. It is worth more than just a passing glance, and it garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
