Emmy-nominated actor Mark Grossman was recently featured in Maurice Benard’s “State of Mind” podcast on mental health.
Grossman is known for his portrayal of Adam Newman in the No. 1 daytime drama “The Young and The Restless” on CBS, while Benard is a three-time Emmy winner, who plays patriarch Sonny Corinthos on the ABC soap opera “General Hospital.”
Benard has been open about his bi-polar disorder for years, and he is the author of the bestselling book “Nothing General About It – How Love (and Lithium) Saved Me On and Off General Hospital.”
Benard and Grossman open up about their work in the daytime drama world, where Grossman plays the on-screen son of the iconic Victor Newman (portrayed by daytime vet Eric Braeden), and Grossman spoke about how he landed that coveted role.
Grossman shared that he has had the same manager for the past 10 years, and he was candid about the loss of his younger brother (who was two years younger than him).
Grossman was not afraid to be raw, sincere, and vulnerable in this podcast episode, and his vulnerability is the viewer’s reward. It was revelatory in many ways, and the online audience will get to know Mark Grossman on a much more up-close and personal level.
Their entire informed conversation may be heard below.
Congratulations to Maurice Benard once again for delving beyond the surface, which allows his viewers to get to know his interview subjects more intimately.
Benard’s book “Nothing General About It: How Love (and Lithium) Saved Me On and Off General Hospital” is available on Amazon.
