Actors Marcus Coloma and Johnny Wactor of “General Hospital” participated in a fan event that was held at Rockwells in Pelham, New York, on September 24th, and they were delightful.

This in-person fan event was produced by Coastal Entertainment. Coloma and Wactor started their show by interviewing each other and asking themselves questions about how they got started in the entertainment industry. Wactor spoke about his audition for the show, and he shared who are some of his favorite co-stars to work with.

Both Coloma and Wactor received a surprise phone call from three-time Emmy winner Maurice Benard during their show, who reminded the dedicated “General Hospital” fans to check out and subscribe to his MB “State of Mind” podcast on mental health’s YouTube channel.

Benard subsequently expressed his love for Johnny Wactor (whose character recently got killed off the show) and stated that he will “miss him terribly.”

Speaking of MB “State of Mind,” Wactor and Coloma both appeared on that podcast as Benard’s featured guests. Initially, they both acknowledged that it was intimating and nerve-wracking to appear on his podcast. “MB State of Mind broke down the mystique of Maurice Benard as Sonny Corinthos. He is actually a nice and funny guy,” Wactor said. “It was a cool experience.”

“I feel so close to Maurice now, but in the beginning, I was really intimated by him,” Coloma said. “Maurice has been on the show for 30 years and he has won a couple of Emmys, not that he will tell you that. He is great and I respect him,” Coloma added.

“Maurice and I recently did another one,” Coloma hinted about a forthcoming MB “State of Mind” episode. “This one I highly recommend watching because now we are actually friends, and we have talked about literally everything together. So, there is a level of comfort when Maurice asks you a question and the filter is gone. Maurice is a very positive guy and it is nice talking to positive people because you come up with new ideas. I think MB ‘State of Mind’ is a great show in that regard”

Coloma noted that New York is one of his favorite places and that Benard is one of the funniest guys. Coloma expressed that he started understanding his character, Nikolas Cassadine, much better now than he did in the beginning. Coloma also revealed what he loves most about Nikolas Cassadine.

Wactor recalled working with Academy Award winner Melissa Leo (“The Fighter”) and Ben McKenzie (“The O.C.”) in a table reading (hosted by filmmaker Adam Davenport) when he first moved to Los Angeles. “It was really cool and it was a really intimate setting. This was in my first year in LA and it was so awesome. I was super nervous and I got to do a comedy role with her. We just crushed it,” Wactor said.

They both expressed their gratitude to the fans, especially since the fans are the ones that keep the show on the air.
