Actor and musician Marc Anthony Samuel (“General Hospital”) released his new R&B/soul single “Free Yourself,” featuring Triptides.

It is a soaring collaboration with the psychedelic rock band Triptides, and it is all heart and soul. Samuel allows his rich, velvet voice to shine on this tune, which is smooth as silk.

It has a vintage Motown vibe to it, which is infectious. It is evident that Samuel has an old soul. This is an expressive yet liberating song that deserves to be played on the adult contemporary airwaves.

Fans of The Spinners, The Temptations, and Smokey Robinson will certainly find “Free Yourself” to be a real treat. Well done.

Hopefully, this is a harbinger for more quality music to come from Marc Anthony Samuel and Triptides in the future.

“Free Yourself” is available on Apple Music by clicking here. It garners two thumbs up.

Recent acting projects on Netflix

This past winter, Samuel was one of the stars of the holiday rom-com “The Merry Gentlemen,” where he starred alongside such actors as Chad Michael Murray, Britt Robertson, Hector David Jr., Colt Prattes, Marla Sokoloff, Michael Gross, Beth Broderick, Maxwell Caulfield, and Meredith Thomas, among others.

Samuel also had a recurring role in “A Man on the Inside,” where Michael Schur
serves as the showrunner, which premiered on Netflix back in late November just in time for Thanksgiving.
