Review: Magician Issy Simpson stuns magic fans with debut on ‘Ellen’ show (Includes first-hand account)

In Britain, Simpson was the runner-up winner of the eleventh season of the reality competition, Britain’s Got Talent.

She noted that she has been doing magic for two years now, and she was inspired after watching Harry Potter, as well as her grandfather doing magic tricks.

Simpson showed TV host Ellen DeGeneres a card trick, where she asked her to select a random card from the deck, which would subsequently appear on her T-shirt. “I’ve never seen that T-shirt before,” DeGeneres said, since Simpson wore a T-shirt with Ellen’s face on it. “You owe me some money,” DeGeneres added, jokingly.

The TV host revealed for the first time that the card she selected was the five of diamonds, and Simpson was able to reveal a different shirt, which featured DeGeneres holding the five of diamonds.

It was followed by another trick that involved a book written by DeGeneres, which Simpson described as one of her mother’s favorite books. Simpson asked DeGeneres to select a random word from a random page in the book, which turned out to be the word “Australian.” The word appeared to be on a blackboard (that Simpson wrote prior to the show), which left DeGeneres in total awe of Simpson’s talent.

In return, DeGeneres rewarded Simpson with a ticket to Disneyland in California.
