Review: Luke Bryan delivers on ‘Spring Break…Checkin’ Out’ album (Includes first-hand account)

It opens with the mid-tempo, laid-back “My Ol’ Bronco” and it is followed by the acoustic ballad “Games,” which builds up into an electrifying vocal. “She Get Me High” is a tune that the listener can easily clap along to, with a mellow vibe to it. “Spring Breakdown” is extremely radio-friendly and nostalgic at the same time. “Good Lookin’ Girl” is a fun and witty tune. “Checkin’ Out” is uplifting and infectious.

He changes the pace of the album with the slow-moving ballad “You And The Beach,” while “Night One” is a feel-good party tune. “Like We Ain’t Ever” and the witty “The Sand I Brought To The Beach” are both equally fun and enjoyable.

“Are You Leaving With Him” is an appropriate song to conclude this project with, while he leaves his fans wanting more anthems on spring break.

The Verdict

Overall, Luke Bryan’s new album Spring Break… Checkin’ Out is a charming studio effort. A lot of the songs on here have the potential to become radio singles. It allows the listener to forget their problems, and kick back and relax for the duration of the record. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
