Review: Lisa Martin delivers on new cover of Adele’s ‘Skyfall’ (Includes first-hand account)

Martin maintains solid control over her polished voice, and the backing vocals on “Skyfall” are an added treat. It has a neat orchestral arrangement to it, and Martin nails the vocals. All of the media and fan attention that Martin has been getting lately has been very favorable, and rightfully so.

The Verdict

Overall, Lisa Martin’s version of “Skyfall” is compelling, and it really sustains the listeners’ attention throughout its 2.5 minute duration. Adele herself would be smiling upon this touching rendition of the Oscar-winning tune, which was featured on a James Bond film. Hopefully, there will be more Adele covers from Martin to come in the future, since she certainly does them justice, while staying true to herself as a solo vocalist.
