LoCash served as his opening act and they were able to warm up the stage for Brice.
Backed by his six-piece band, he began his set with his latest single “Drinking Class,” which was well-received. “It’s time for a toast. Let’s start this night off,” Brice said.
Accompanying himself on electric guitar, Brice continued with “Friends We Won’t Forget.”
“Westbury. It’s good to be back here,” Brice said, prior to praising New York for having some of the best country fans out there. It was followed by a soaring rendition of his chart-topping single “Hard To Love,” where he showcased his raw and powerful vocals.
“Beer” displayed his ability to have a fun time with the Westbury crowd, prior to complimenting them for their singing talent. “You guys can blow the roof off this place,” he said.
“How in the world are you doing?” he asked. “Ya’ll are awesome tonight,” and immediately broke into his first No. 1 single, the love ballad “A Woman Like You,” which was met with roaring applause. “The softer you speak to the woman, the more they hear what you are saying to them. That’s my experience,” he said.
Brice added, “This is so awesome. I want to stand here and look at your faces. I wish I had panoramic view to see you all at the same time.”
A Curb recording artist, Brice noted what a thrill it was to sing “More Than a Memory” with his musical hero, Garth Brooks, a few weeks ago in Massachusetts.
“My guitar player, Travis, says there’s a little bit of crazy in every girl,” he said, prior to singing his version of “Crazy Girl,” which he wrote for the Eli Young Band.
He shared that “That Don’t Sound Like You” is one of his favorite songs that he has written on his new album, and he hopes that it becomes a single in the near future. Based on audience feedback, the Westbury crowd agreed with him with that decision.
“I Drive Your Truck” was the song in his set that gave everybody goosebumps. Even Brice himself was fighting back the tears in his eyes, after his emotional delivery. It earned him a lengthy standing ovation and he dedicated it to the armed forces, police officers, firefighters, as well as the fans’ friends and family members.
The Verdict
Overall, Lee Brice gets better with each and every concert that he puts on. He displayed his versatility as an artist and was able to connect well with the fans. His show is high-energy and entertaining. He earned an A rating.
