Esteemed Nash FM 94.7 radio personalities Kelly Ford and Jesse Addy made the opening remarks, and thanked the country fans of Long Island for coming out tonight in the rain, as well as the military veterans that were in the audience.
Weiss opened her set with a soaring rendition of Gretchen Wilson’s “Here For the Party,” where she really got into the tune. “Yeah, we’re all here for the party. How are we doing East Meadow, New York?” she asked.
She immediately broke into “Little Piece of Heaven,” an original recording, which was well-received. “Are we staying dry?” she asked the crowd. It was followed by “Runaround,” a track from her first EP For Love.
Weiss showcased her country-rock side on “Straightshooter” and equally noteworthy was “Throwback.” She closed her set with her latest single, the upbeat “Momentum,” which was yet another fun vocal. She thanked Nash FM for having her tonight and wished everybody a great night, as they prepared to watch Gloriana and Kristian Bush perform.

The Verdict
Overall, Leanne Weiss’ set at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow was pleasant, sassy and a great deal of fun. She is like a modern-day Natalie Maines of The Dixie Chicks meets Kelsea Ballerini, and both of these comparisons should be taken as compliments. Her mini-concert garnered 4.5 out of 5 stars.
