On Saturday, December 6th, children’s music artist Laurie Berkner performed two back-to-back holiday concerts at The Paramount in Huntington on Long Island for a sold-out venue.
Berkner began her set with the vivacious “Let’s Go!” and immediately broke into the festive and joyous “Jingle Bells.”
“I’ve been looking forward to do this holiday show at The Paramount for a long time,” Berkner admitted, and went on to introduce her dancer and “helper” Michelle Esch.
She took her kindie crowd on an imaginary elevator ride with “Waiting for the Elevator,” prior to blasting off with “Rocketship Run.”
“Buzz Buzz” was this journalist’s personal favorite song from the first half of the concert, and she even personalized one of the lines to “sitting at a Laurie Berkner holiday show,” which was a neat twist. Equally fun was “My Bunny Goes Hop.”
She introduced fans to Hanukkah with “Candle Chase” and an uptempo version of “Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel,” which was infectious.

She encouraged some crowd participation with “Pig on Her Head” as the kids put on different stuffed animals on their heads.
“I Live Inside A Snowglobe (Shake It Up)” was fun, where she was jumping on stage and the fans were clapping along, “Chipmunk At The Gas Pump” was witty and fun.
Berkner threw several large beach balls in the crowd while performing the empowering tune “Superhero” and she threw some holiday songs in the mix such as “Frosty the Snowman” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”
“I’m Gonna Catch You” was just as fun and catchy. The ball toss around the venue was enjoyable for all… parents, kids, and even the Paramount security alike.
Berkner subsequently turned the kids into pretend “fish” and sang “The Goldfish (Let’s Go Swimming).”
In honor of Kwanzaa and Hanukkah, she performed “Christmas Lights,” which was a real treat and she concluded her set with the song that everybody wanted to hear… “We Are The Dinosaurs, and it was sheer bliss.
Encore songs
For her encore, Berkner returned to The Paramount stage, where she sang a medley of songs that included the classic “Victor Vito,” “Bubbles” and the affectionate “I’ve Got So Much To Give.”
After the poignant “My Family,” she closed on a fitting note with “Goodnight,” where she left her young fans yearning for more.
“We always love playing at The Paramount,” she told her fans.
The Verdict
Overall, Laurie Berkner was noteworthy at The Paramount in Huntington, and her holiday show has become an annual tradition at this Long Island venue.
