Review: Laurie Berkner charms on new video ‘I’m a Mess’ and ‘Clean It Up’ (Includes first-hand account)

This is a song that any parent or elementary teacher can relate to, as well as children. This tune celebrates the chaos of being messy, and the follow-up song “Clean It Up” is an ode to cleaning up and putting things where they belong.

“Clean it up, clean it up, you can make it fun to do, and your friend can help you too,” Berkner sings, in her soothing voice. The acoustic guitar instrumentation and the horns are an added treat.

The Verdict

Overall, Laurie Berkner has done it again, by releasing yet another catchy song and music video. One should not be surprised if “I’m a Mess” and “Clean It Up” became clean-up songs anthems this academic school year in preschools and elementary schools nationwide. This video inspires teamwork among children, and it garners two thumbs up.
