The ever-talented girls of Wannabe: The Spice Girls Tribute Band were able to warm up the stage for Larger Than Life by covering such smash hits as “Wannabe,” the moving “Say You’ll Be There,” “Who Do You Think You Are,” and they even included a neat mash-up of “Next Generation,” which was incorporated with “If You Can’t Dance.” Their stage presence was tremendous, and all five women looked exactly like the actual Spice Girls members. The Mulcahy’s crowd was with Wannabe every step of the way.
Larger Than Life took the stage following the high-octane performance of Wannabe, and they never disappoint. They were able to revitalize such boy band hits as “I Want It That Way” and “Bye Bye Bye,” where their live performance of the latter tune was reminiscent of the actual N SYNC music video. It would not be a Larger Than Life show if they didn’t open with their namesake song, and the mid-tempo follow-up “Tearin’ Up My Heart.” All of the classic boy band tunes that they perform are nailed to the tee, and the same holds true for their choreography. What was great about last night’s line-up at Mulcahy’s Pub (with Wannabe and Larger Than Life) is that they were able to please both the male and female audiences, as the concertgoers were left reminiscing about the 90’s musical decade. Both bands earn an A rating for their live shows.
