On Saturday, March 8th, Lady Gaga tribute act Tierney performed at Joanne Trattoria in the Upper West Side of New York, where she showcased all of Lady Gaga’s musical eras.
This entertainment hub was quite appropriate as Joanne Trattoria is owned by Joe Germanotta, Lady Gaga’s father, and the pop superstar just released her new studio album “Mayhem” was released yesterday, which earned rave reviews.
Traditional pop and jazz era
Dressed in an elegant black gown, Tierney kicked off her show with “Let’s Do It,” where she was instantly able to lure fans and listeners in her set.
She immediately broke into the Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett duet “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love,” which was from their “Cheek to Cheek” album. She subsequently paid homage to the late but great Edith Piaf with “La Vie En Rose.”
Tierney also honored Cher with “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” and “New York, New York,” which was quite fitting for the Big Apple audience that gathered at this Italian-American eatery.
The inclusion of an acoustic version of “Bad Romance” on the piano was sheer bliss.
Movie soundtrack era
After an outfit change and a brief break, Tierney returned to the Joanne stage, and pleased “A Star is Born” fans with a killer rendition of “Shallow,” where she showcased her rich, harking voice.
It was followed by the songs from “Joker: Folie à Deux,” which included the title track “Folie a Deux” and “Happy Mistake,” the latter of which she incorporated as a singalong with the Joanne Trattoria audience.
Equally powerful was Tierney’s soaring version of “Hold My Hand” from “Top Gun: Maverick” where she displayed her incredible range and pipes. She was able to convey a wide spectrum of raw feelings, especially since this is a deeply personal tune, and she was able to move the crowd on an emotional level.
An added treat was hearing Tierney perform Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black,” and she revealed she will be back at Joanne Trattoria next month for her own Amy Winehouse tribute performance.
This portion of her set closed with the stunning piano-laden ballad “Always Remember Us This Way.”

‘Pop Hits’ era
For her third and final act, Tierney dressed in Gaga’s new Black Mayhem outfit. She began this set with the vivacious “Applause,” and immediately broke into Lady Gaga’s autobiographical “Born This Way.”
After an enthralling acoustic take on “Million Reasons,” she segued into “Rain on Me” and “Stupid Love” medley.
Tierney closed with the mid-tempo “Disease” (which has “Judas” vibes to it), and with the catchy “Abracadabra,” which felt like a gothic fever dream, and that ought to be taken as a compliment.
“We loved Tierney performing at Joanne Trattoria. This is the best show we’ve seen thus far at this restaurant since it opened. This is higher level quality entertainment right here,” said fans and attendees Martin, Helene and Rachel Polsky.
“We love the food here too. Congratulations to Joe Germanotta and to Tierney for a job well done,” the Polsky family added.
Speaking of Joanne Trattoria, the restaurant just hosted the “Mayhem” album Listening party yesterday for a great turnout.
