Review: Lady Gaga spectacular at Super Bowl LI halftime show (Includes first-hand account)

She kicked off her set by singing such patriotic tunes as “God Bless America” and “This Land Is Your Land,” and after a high-flying entrance she immediately broke into her infectious recording “The Edge of Glory.”

It was followed by “Poker Face” and her inspirational “Born This Way,” where she was backed by her talented back-up dancers. She sang an impressive version of “Telephone,” sans Beyonce, and she had the halftime audience and viewers at home to her breakthrough Grammy-nominated dance hit “Just Dance.”

Gaga, who is affectionately dubbed as “Mother Monster,” by her fans, showcased her prowess on piano and natural talent on “Million Reasons,” which is off her latest studio effort, prior to closing with her signature song, “Bad Romance.”

The Verdict

Overall, Lady Gaga was able to deliver a killer live performance at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show. There were no political statements, and she allowed the music to do all the talking. Last year, she nailed the national anthem and this year, she put on a top-notch halftime show. Lady Gaga garnered an A+ for a job well done.
