Global pop music stars Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars won the 2025 Grammy Award for “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” for “Die with a Smile.”
“Die with a Smile” triumphed over such collaborations by such diverse artists as Gracie Abrams and Taylor Swift (“Us”), Beyoncé and Post Malone (“Levii’s Jeans”), Charli XCX and Billie Eilish (“Guess”) and Ariana Grande, Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy is Mine.”
This marks Lady Gaga’s 14th career Grammy Award.
“Thank you,” Bruno Mars said in his acceptance speech. “Gaga, I’m so honored to be a part of this song with you. I’m so honored to have a small part in your giant musical legacy. I really truly believe that God gave us this song to sing together so thank you so much.”
“Bruno, you are an incredible human being,” Lady Gaga remarked in his gracious speech. “You’re a musician for the ages. I don’t know music without Bruno.”
Lady Gaga went on to express her love for her fiancé Michael [Polansky]. “Michael, I love you so much,” she said. “Thanks for all your support and love every single day.”
“It is a privilege to be a songwriter, a producer, and a musician. It is such an honor to sing for all of you, and I just want to say tonight that trans people are not invisible,” she acknowledged.
“Trans people deserve love. The queer community deserves to be lifted up. Music is love. Thank you,” she said, effusively.
The duet “Die with a Smile” is a track on Lady Gaga’s forthcoming studio album “Mayhem,” which will be released on March 7, 2025.
Speaking of the new album, Lady Gaga’s family restaurant Joanne Trattoria in the Upper West Side of New York will have a listening party to celebrate its release on Friday, March 7th (the same day “Mayhem” comes out).
