Early on, in the pre-telecast, “Shallow” was named “Best Song Written for Visual Media,” and during the actual ceremony, it was revealed that they won for “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.”
Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper bested some stiff competition for the award for “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance,” where they were up against six other pop vocal collaborations.
In her acceptance speech, Gaga thanked Cooper who was at the BAFTA awards representing their film, A Star is Born, and she raised awareness on mental health, and to help people who are suffering from mental health issues. She also performed “Shallow” during the live ceremony.
Aside from her collaboration with Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga also took home the Grammy award for “Best Pop Solo Performance” for “Joanne (Where Do You Think You’re Goin’?),” which is a song in memory of her late aunt Joanne who passed away from lupus at the age of 19. As of last night, Lady Gaga’s career Grammy award total is nine.
Speaking of “Shallow,” it is also nominated for the “Best Original Song” at the upcoming Academy Awards on February 24, for which Lady Gaga is a shoo-in to win.
