Actor Kristoffer Polaha directed his new thriller “Mimics,” which will be out via Panorama Pictures. Marc Oakley wrote the script.
The movie stars Kristoffer Polaha alongside Mōriah, Stephen Tobolowsky, Chris Parnell, Jesse Hutch, Jason Marsden, Arianne Zucker, and Austin Basis.
The synopsis is: Down-on-his-luck impressionist Sam Reinhold (Kristoffer Polaha) makes a pact with Fergus—a wicked, strings-attached puppet—that holds the promise to propel Sam to stardom, unleashing a nightmare that threatens the safety of those he loves.

Mōriah commands each scene she is in as Virginia Martin, and she works well opposite Polaha, who is just as remarkable as Sam.
Veteran actor Stephen Tobolowsky is a force of nature as Melvin Reinhold.
Jesse Hutch steals the show in a career-defining performance as Robert Van Sickle, while Emmy nominee Arianne Zucker stuns as the voluptuous Madam.
The multiple twists and turns will keep the audience at the edge of their seats for the majority of its duration.
Everybody in the cast brings something special to the story, and it is evident that this is a labor of love for all involved.
The Verdict
Overall, “Mimics” is a bold and daring directorial debut by Krisoffer Polaha. He proves to be a master provocateur who is able to balance all of these distinct movie genres in one highly-eclectic project.
“Mimics” is the feel-good escapism we all need, and it has it all: the humor, romance, suspense, mystery, as well as the chills and thrills. It is rich in symbolism and motifs, especially if one pays close attention.
Hopefully, this is a harbinger that there will be more directing projects from Polaha in the future, and perhaps he could try his hand in screenwriting. The sky is the limit.
“Mimics” is worth more than just a passing glance, and it garners an A rating.
