Review: Kesha — Queen of Billboard charts with superb new album ‘Rainbow’ (Includes first-hand account)

Her album Rainbow is her third full-length studio effort, and it was released on the record labels Kemosabe and RCA Records. She either wrote or co-wrote all of the tracks on the album, where every song has its own identity.

The highly eclectic CD debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 all genre charts, for the week of September 2. It is her most personal collection of musical work to date, featuring her empowering single, “Praying,” which garnered a rave review from Digital Journal. In this song, the female narrator showcases a great deal of inner strength as she sings about overcoming emotional abuse. It has a liberating vibe to it, and it is filled with raw emotions.

Rainbow is an album that deserves to be considered for several Grammy categories (“Best Pop Album” and “Album of the Year”) and “Praying” is a single that deserves to earn multiple nomination at next year’s Grammy awards ceremony for such categories as “Best Pop Solo Performance,” “Record of the Year,” and “Song of the Year.” Her immense talent on her third studio album is too huge to be ignored, and the Recording Academy ought to take notice.

Rainbow is available on iTunes.
