Review: Kenny Chesney shines on ‘Save It for a Rainy Day’ single (Includes first-hand account)

It features neat acoustic guitar instrumentation and it has an uplifting message to it. “Save It for a Rainy Day” was co-penned by songwriters Andrew Dorff, Matt Ramsey and Brad Tursi. Chesney co-produced the single with Buddy Cannon, and Shaun Silva directed his music video for the song, which compliments the song quite well. It deserves to be appreciated for its beauty and its simplicity.

“But today the tears ain’t gonna hit the floor, cause the boat’s in the bay and it’s calling my name, so I’m headed on out the door,” Chesney sings, in a nonchalant fashion.

Many listeners can relate to the song’s liberating lyrics and its optimistic message. “The sun’s too bright, the sky’s too blue, the beer is too cold to be thinking bout you, gonna take this heartbreak and tuck it away, save it for a rainy day.”
