Episode nine of KanColle, titled “Second Remodel-poi?!,” is currently streaming on Crunchyroll for paid subscribers. Free subscribers can watch the same episode six days from now on March 11th.
Yuudachi is the focus of the episode as she is revealed to be glowing for unknown reasons. I laughed at the “plausible” reasons like bad food or the fact that she could explode at any given moment. She is one of the examples that KanColle is an enjoyable episode to watch because of her composure and ability to keep saying “poi.”
It was funny that Oichi and Kitakami were having one of their lesbian moments when Fubuki and Mutsuki decided to eavesdrop on them. I have to say that this couple is one of the reasons that KanColle can be funny to watch. The two of them act as the token lesbian couple in the series as they are rarely seen apart from each other.
The scene got funnier when they passed by Kongou’s room as she is having a sweet dream about the Admiral.
I was shocked that Yuudachi “grew up” and it made me go “holy s—t” because she was taller than the rest of the class. Her blue eyes changed to dark red. Yuudachi is unrecognizable and the only way you can tell if it is her is when she says “poi.”
Yuudachi lives up to the title “Second Remodel-poi?!” and I laughed at the fact her breasts have increased in size, too. It obviously shows that females are often concerned with their bust sizes as guys are often concerned with their penis sizes.
The “remodeling” of Yuudachi, however, means things will get harder for her because she is being transferred to the main fleet.
Bad news strikes Fubuki, feeling down because she hasn’t “remodeled” yet, because she is being called back to the Naval District after her group has disbanded. I feel bad for Fubuki because she has worked hard to become leader of her own group only to have the group disband.
It’s like Fubuki is struggling and ultimately coming to terms with the fact that she will never catch up to them.
S—t has hit the fan when the Abyssals take advantage of the fact that most of the forces have moved to Truk Island to carry out their attack on the Naval District. It is ultimately a victory for the Abyssal Fleet at the end, but the Fleet Girls have vowed to come back stronger than ever.
It obviously shows that a big battle is coming soon to KanColle.
I laughed at Oichi’s anger when the Abyssals “ruined her memories” with Kitakami. I wouldn’t be surprised if Oichi’s anger allowed her to go “Super Saiyan” like Yuudachi did earlier.
The sense of family and community at the end when they rebuilt the Naval District was heartfelt.
This episode of KanColle was enjoyable to watch and I cannot wait to watch the next episode, but I was shocked that Fubuki is getting her desire to be “remodeled.” I am curious on what Fubuki’s new appearance will be after the transformation.
