Emmy-nominated actor Justin Hartley is in “Springland” in the third episode of the new CBS series “Tracker,” which premiered on Sunday, February 25.

Ken Olin (“This Is Us”) directed this episode from a script by Elwood Reid.

Justin Hartley stars as Colter Shaw (and also serves as an executive producer), and while he does make a living as a “rewardist,” he proves that he really does care about each case that he is assigned by his handlers Teddi and Velma Bruin (played by Robin Weigert and Abby McEnany) respectively.

While Colter presents a tough guy image, he does have a heart, and that is evident each week.

In this episode, set in Springland, Idaho, Colter calls Bobby (Eric Graise) for help when he discovers an unusual item tapped to a tree in the woods.

Shaw gets stabbed after a confrontation with Tom Tozer (played by Bradley Stryker) and he requires medical attention. Once again, the fight scenes are carefully choreographed in this episode.

Shaw helps Kira (Anja Savcic), a woman who is willing to sacrifice her sanity to preserve her dignity to find the truth about her missing sister’s disappearance.

Richard Harmon (“The 100” on The CW) plays Matt Winslow, the man who was involved with the missing woman prior to her disappearance.

Fiona Rene is back as the badass and spunky attorney  Reenie Green. This episode has multiple twists and turns to the point where the true identity of the one responsible for the woman’s disappearance will shock the audience.

The only actress missing in this episode was Wendy Crewson as Mary Dove Shaw, Colter’s mom, but hopefully, she will back in a future “Tracker” episode, especially since her presence is an important part of the series.

Overall, “Springland” is another keeper in the “Tracker” series on CBS, and it garners two thumbs up.
