On October 18, the iconic heavy metal group Judas Priest headlined Nassau Coliseum on Long Island, New York, for an excellent turnout of fans.

They played some of their biggest hits over the years, as well as some noteworthy rarities as part of their seminal 50th anniversary tour. They rocked hard at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.

The acclaimed band is made up of Rob Halford on lead vocals, Ian Hill on the bass, Glenn Tipton on guitars, Scott Travis on the drums and backing vocals, as well as Richie Faulkner on guitars and background vocals. Their setlist was highly eclectic and memorable.

Judas Priest kicked off their show with “Electric Eye,” which was met with a raucous response, and it was followed by the spitfire “Riding on the Wind” and “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’,” which is this journalist’s all-time favorite Judas Priest tune.

It was neat to hear them perform tunes from their electrifying “Firepower” album such as its title track and “Never the Heroes.” They continued with “Beyond the Realms of Death,” the fan-favorite “Judas Rising” and “Heading Out to the Highway.”

After “Halls of Valhalla,” they delivered a distinct cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown),” penned by the late but great Peter Green, and they concluded with the powerhouse “Screaming for Vengeance.”

For their encore, they performed “Hell Bent for Leather,” which featured Rob Halford on his motorcycle, and they closed with “Breaking the Law” and “Living After Midnight,” thus leaving their loyal fans yearning for more.

With this headlining show at Nassau Coliseum, Judas Priest proved that their forthcoming induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is long-overdue and based on merit. They fully embody the “Musical Excellence Award,” but they also deserve to be in there as “Performers” in their own right. Well done, love live the heavy metal gods Judas Priest.
