Review: Joshua and The Holy Rollers delivers on sultry single ‘Hey Hey’ (Includes first-hand account)

His vocals have a crisp and haunting vibe to them. They are smooth and sultry, where the listener can slightly recall country star Chris Stapleton, and that should be taken as a compliment.

Mac Hanson’s voice is truly worlds apart from his musical brothers, Hanson, who are known for their global smash hit “MMMBop.” He may be their youngest brother, but he is a gifted musician in his own right. Hanson plays six musical instruments, he writes his own songs and he knows how to belt the high notes like a classic rocker.

A music video for the song is scheduled to be released in the following month. The first EP from Joshua and The Holy Rollers entitled Tribulations will also be released this October.

“Hey Hey” is available on iTunes.

The Verdict

Overall, Mac Hanson from Joshua and The Holy Rollers delivers on his breakthrough single “Hey Hey.” It encompasses elements of pop, rock, folk, Americana, country and adult contemporary. Hanson showcases his wide range as a recording artist. Grab a bottle of wine and let Mac Hanson lure you in. Hopefully, this is song a harbinger of bigger and better things to come for the band in the future. “Hey Hey” garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
