Emmy award-winning actor Jordi Vilasuso was recently spotlighted on Maurice Benard’s MB “State of Mind” podcast on mental health.
Vilasuso played the role of Rey Rosales on the No. 1 daytime drama “The Young and The Restless.” He is Cuban-American, raised in Miami, Florida, and even with a family full of doctors he knew he wanted to be an actor at a very young age.
He is best known for his roles as Tony Santos on “Guiding Light” (for which he won a Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Younger Actor”), Griffin Castillo on All My Children, Dario Hernandez on “Days of Our Lives,” and, most recently, Rey Rosales on “The Young and the Restless.”
For his portrayal of Rey Rosales, Vilasuso was nominated for the 2022 Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.”
In the daytime drama world, it doesn’t get any more humble, courteous, or genuine than Jordi Vilasuso. He is one of the best-loved actors in the industry, both from a peer and a fan standpoint.
They talk about his childhood and when Vilasuso moved to New York City and he joined the talented cast of “Guiding Light,” but things get deep when Jordi opens up about his relationship with his wife Kaitlin. When things got tough, they sought out therapy and continue to put the work into their marriage.
Jordi and Kaitlin have a new podcast called “Making It Work,” where they are candid about lessons they’ve learned in their own relationship and discover new ways of making it work in life, love, and marriage.
Their entire intimate and informed conversation may be seen below.
In return, Benard praised Vilasuso for being one of the most knowledgeable people that he has ever interviewed for MB “State of Mind,” especially on the topic of mental health.
