“John Wick: Chapter 4,” starring Keanu Reeves, is a high-octane action film that was released via Lionsgate.
The movie was directed by Chad Stahelski, and the screenplay was written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch.
Aside from Reeves, it stars Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgard, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Marko Zaror, Shamier Anderson, Lance Reddick, Rina Sawayama, Scott Adkins, and Ian McShane.
The synopsis is: John Wick (Keanu Reeves) uncovers a path to defeating the High Table, but before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes.
This is by far the most compelling sequel in the “John Wick” franchise. It has a little bit of everything. It was expertly shot and choreographed, and the cinematography is visually-striking.
It is nearly three hours long, but the adventure and the storyline will keep the audience fully engaged for the entire duration.
While it had limited dialogue and character development, the action more than made up for it. “John Wick: Chapter 4” had some of the longest gun action fight scenes, yet they were able to build up the storyline quite well. The CGI in the movie serves the overall effect.
Bill Skarsgard delivered as the manipulative and vindictive Marquis, and the same holds true for Donnie Yen as the blind assassin Caine. Marko Zaror was able to portray the nefarious Chidi, the right-hand man of Marquis, with humanity and believability.
The Verdict
Overall, “John Wick: Chapter 4” is a superb action flick from start to finish. Keanu Reeves exuded a great deal of charisma. The audience will be drenched in a wide spectrum of raw emotions: they will laugh a lot, and there are scenes where they will cry. It is worth checking out, and it garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Grab some popcorn and allow Keanu Reeves and the cast to lure you in. It is one fun thrill ride.
