Review: John King releases smooth music video video for ‘Heat Wave’ (Includes first-hand account)

The song has a flirty and romantic side to it, and King does wonders with love songs. His breakthrough hit was “Tonight Tonight,” and equally stunning was the country-rock tune “On Your Lips.”

His song’s music video has a fun, laid-back and mellow vibe, which is quite liberating, especially being filmed on a pontoon in the lake. “If you touch my hand, while the mercury is rising, then I swear what’s down there don’t compare to how my temperature’s climbing,” King sings.

The video for “Heat Wave” has a cliffhanger ending, which will be continued in the subsequent music videos. We will see how the relationships in the video will unfold.

The Verdict

Overall, John King consistently proves that he is one of country music’s most underrated male artists. “Heat Wave” is no different; it is a nonchalant and carefree tune, and its backing vocals are smooth and breathy. It is the quintessential country song that any woman would love to have sung to them by their significant other.

The country radio airwaves ought to embrace John King and his music more often. “Heat Wave” garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.

“Heat Wave” is available on iTunes and on Spotify.
