Review: Joan Jett rocks on ‘Love is All Around,’ honors Mary Tyler Moore (Includes first-hand account)

Their music video for “Love is All Around” has resurfaced on cyberspace ever since the death of iconic actress Mary Tyler Moore, who passed away at the age of 80 years old. It was originally written and recorded by Sonny Curtis. Jett paid a tribute to Moore in a press statement to Billboard.

Joan Jett kills the lead guitar on this song, and she nails the vocals. It is evident that anything Jett touches from a musical standpoint turns to gold. Their recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction was based on talent and sheer merit.

The Verdict

Overall, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts do the Mary Tyler Moore theme song “Love is All Around” justice. Their rocking version garners an A rating. All hail the rock goddess.
