Breuer’s 5 p.m. show was family friendly. He began his comedic set by sharing his excitement for the New York Mets baseball team, as well as the fact that his daughters are obsessed with cell phones, texting, and how they are constantly interrupting him every five minutes when they were kids.
He continued to poke fun of his family members and how his wife is like a “grizzly bear” when she wakes up in the morning, so he prefers to take his daughters to school himself, rather than to wake his wife up and hear her yelling. Breuer described teenage girls as “gross,” while teenage boys are “dumb and dirty,” yet the latter is expected.
Breuer has a special fondness for Long Island, since he used to perform at a venue called February’s, which no longer exists. He expressed his love for heavy metal music and being afforded the privilege to ride on a private jet with Ozzy Osborne; moreover, his impersonations of Osborne was spot-on. He revealed that he now lives in New Jersey and that it is very difficult to make a left turn in that state.
Towards the end of his set, he explained the real reason for his disdain towards Bon Jovi (where everything added up) and he concluded by premiering his new music video for a new rock song, which was well-received by The Paramount audience. He was accompanied with his hard rock and metal band The Regulators.
The Verdict
Overall, Jim Breuer was able to deliver at The Paramount in Huntington on Long Island. His live show was witty and it garnered 4 out of 5 stars.
