Review: Jessie Chris stuns on new country album ‘Wildfire’ (Includes first-hand account)

Chris‘ newest CD begins with the sweet “Country Girl,” which has a whimsical vibe to it, where the listener can recall country songstress RaeLynn. It continues with the mid-tempo “Crazy for You” and “Some Bridges Won’t Burn” features strong guitar instrumentation, and breathy vocals.

“You Were California” is refreshing and it showcases her bubbly personality. “Chameleon” is extremely radio-friendly and a fun song. The piano-driven ballad “Broken,” displays her wide range as a contemporary vocalist. The title track “Wildfire” is a vibrant tune with vivid imagery.

“Road Trip” has a country-rock edge to it and a liberating feel to it. “Butterfly” is melodically soothing, and she changes the pace of the record with her spitfire “Gone.” It closes with on an upbeat note with “Summertime.”

The Verdict

Overall, Jessie Chris‘ new album Wildfire is entertaining and compelling. She deserves to become the next Taylor Swift in music. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
