Review: Jerrod Niemann upbeat on new country album ‘This Ride’ (Includes first-hand account)

It opens with the upbeat and fun “Zero to Crazy,” and it is followed by the mid-tempo and romantic “But I Do,” as well as the laid-back and nonchalant “Leavin’ A Trail.” It continues with the mellow “I Got This” and the radio-friendly, “Out Of My Heart.”

Lee Brice lends his soothing vocals on the uplifting “A Little More Love,” and Diamond Rio is glorious with Niemann on “I Ain’t All There.” The highlight track on the album is the flawless single, “God Made a Woman,” which is an ode to his dedicated wife, and filled with raw emotions.

The album closes with the mid-tempo and fun “The Regulars,” as well as the infectious title track “This Ride,” where Niemann’s baritone vocals are reminiscent of Blake Shelton, and that ought to be taken as a compliment.

The Verdict

Overall, Jerrod Niemann delivers on his brand new studio album, This Ride. There is something in it for everybody, and the love ballad “God Made a Woman” is worth the price of the CD alone. This CD garners an A rating.

Jerrod Niemann’s new studio album This Ride is available on iTunes.
