Review: Jason Derulo electrifies at iHeartRadio live concert in New York (Includes first-hand account)

This live show, hosted by radio personality Maxwell, was in support of his album release, Everything Is 4, and the superstar shared that he put his “heart and soul” on this project.

He began his set with the upbeat “Wiggle,” as vibrant laser lights dimmed on the stage, and he was joined by a talented group of dancers. Derulo continued with “Get Ugly” and his old school tune “Trumpets.”

Derulo premiered his new song “Cheyenne” from his latest album and he showcased his seductive side on “Talk Dirty,” which resonated well with his female fans. His rich falsetto was evident throughout the duration of his show.

He was impressive on his latest radio single “Want To Want Me,” which is climbing up the Billboard Hot 100 charts, and rightfully so.

Derulo continued with two additional old-school tunes, where he brought his fans down memory lane. These included the infectious “In My Head” and his breakthrough single “Whatcha Say.”

“Ridin’ Solo” was one of the highlight songs of the evening and a fan-favorite. He soared on “Don’t Wanna Go Home,” especially with his a cappella intro, and closed with his catchy dance anthem “The Other Side,” thus leaving his fans wanting to hear more.

The Verdict

Overall, Jason Derulo was incredible at his iHeartRadio live mini-concert at the iHeartRadio Theater in New York City, which was presented by P.C. Richard and Son. He proved to be a charismatic performer that was able to belt out the high notes, while simultaneously displaying his superb dancing skills. In this intimate setting, he was able to interact well with his New York audience. His show was uplifting and a great deal of fun. It garnered 5 out of 5 stars.
