Review: James Wesley nails Elvis Presley’s ‘Santa Claus is Back in Town’ (Includes first-hand account)

Wesley posted his cover version of “Santa Claus is Back in Town” on Christmas Eve on his Facebook page, and it has been well-received by his fans and music critics, and rightfully so.

A Kansas native, Wesley noted that he did a “little garage session” and wanted to share his holiday cover of “Santa Claus is Back in Town” with all of his fans and listeners. “This is one of my favorites that Elvis did,” he said, prior to wishing everybody “Merry Christmas and God Bless.” Wesley was backed solely by his acoustic guitar, and he was able to deliver on the classic Elvis tune.

The Verdict

Overall, James Wesley epitomizes what country music is all about: true meaningful lyrics, a relatable message, and a heartfelt performance. This rendition of “Santa Claus is Back in Town” garners an A rating. Well done James.
