On Wednesday, September 10th, Jade LeMac performed at The Paramount in Huntington on Long Island, where she opened for Grammy-winning music star Maren Morris.

After a few technical difficulties, Jade kicked off her set with the spitfire “Aimed to Kill,” where the listener could recall Alessia Cara thanks to her crisp vocals.

It was followed by the unapologetic “Got Me Obsessed,” which was quite infectious. It felt like she was singing to us in her living room.

Equally noteworthy was her stirring rendition of the expressive ballad “Same Place,” where fuchsia lights dimmed from The Paramount stage.

“Huntington, how are we feeling?” she asked. “Thanks for sticking with me with all these technical difficulties. I am so excited to be here tonight and to be on tour with Maren Morris.”

She segued neatly into “Pink Balloon,” where she displayed her ethereal voice, and the catchy bop was sheer bliss. She discussed how special this song is to her.

It was followed by the gorgeous “Constellations,” which is this journalist’s personal favorite song in her catalog thus far, as well as “Sleeping with the Lights On,” whose lyrics are relatable (especially for anybody who is afraid of the dark).

Jade closed her 30-minute set with the mid-tempo and refreshing “Running Home,” which was a fitting sendoff.

“Thank you so much Huntington. My name is Jade LeMac. Have a great night,” she said, effusively.

Judging from this set, her forthcoming EP “It’s Always At Night,” which will be out in early November, sounds bright and promising.

The Verdict

Overall, Jade LeMac was able to warm up The Paramount stage for Maren Morris. She was able to triumph over the technical difficulties that she encountered at the start of the show, and finished with a bang.

Jade was not afraid to be raw and vulnerable with her music, and her vulnerability is the listener’s reward. Every song in her set had its own identity.

The control she maintained over her crystalline voice is incredible; vocally, she is reminiscent of Billie Eilish meets Lorde meets Elle King.

Jade LeMac has an old soul musically, and it is evident that a star is born; moreover, she reassures us that the future of pop music is in good hands.

It is only a matter of time before she starts opening for Harry Styles and playing arenas such as Madison Square Garden. Jade’s set at The Paramount garnered two thumbs up.
